Having Emma photograph our wedding was an absolute breeze, and resulted in stunning photographs which we will treasure for ever.
My husband and I chose Emma after I had worked with her for several years on a local newspaper, her brilliant photojournalism always brought stories to life and that natural and un-posed style of documentary photography was exactly what we were looking for.
We now live in a different part of the country to Emma and have a very hectic schedule which meant that Emma and I had relatively few conversations before the wedding, however I was very confident in her abilities and this allowed me to devout time to other “wedmin” priorities. Such a laid-back approach may have spooked a few photographers but Emma took it in her stride and used the freedom to come up with some unique ideas which allowed her to truly capture the flavour of the whole day.
Emma arrived early to record the wedding party’s preparations and then followed us to the church, she was so unobtrusive that I almost forgot she was there! We wanted the post-wedding shots to be held at an outdoor venue near to the church and, despite Emma having never seen the location before, she took some breathtaking images which fully utilised the natural surroundings. We did give Emma a short list of staged shots for the reception but we agreed in advance that this procedure was to be kept short so as not to distract from the enjoyment of the day.
We also asked Emma to take some engagement-style shots on the beach, due to my schedule we had been unable to arrange this before the wedding but thanks to Emma’s flexibility we were able to make this happen over the wedding weekend.
If I had to do it all again Emma’s name would once again be first on my list of bookings, she made the whole experience of finding, planning and dealing with a photographer as smooth as I think it’s possible to be. Our guests still tell us that our wedding was one of the most “chilled out” they have ever been to and Emma easily fit into that atmosphere and was still able to produce images that were over and above our very high expectations.
Thank you Emma!
